Employee benefits are vital to remain competitive yet they must be affordable and manageable for your business to thrive. Every company has its’ own unique set of characteristics that need to be considered in creating a benefit plan. We do find that there are four common steps involved in creating any company’s solution. Our process involves four steps to ensure your company is receiving the best value and your benefits dollars are not being “left on the table."

Review and Planning:

Months ahead of your benefits renewal, your client management team will meet with you to discuss current market trends as they relate to your organization’s specific goals; short and long-term. With data secured from your exclusive UBA health survey results, MBI can evaluate your current status and plan for adjustments, if any, that your organization would like to pursue. All other contracts including dental, life, disability, vision, etc. are reviewed to ascertain that your employees’ needs are still being met while meeting your upcoming financial goals. Through these discussions, the basis for your new plan year RFP is developed.

Negotiation and Selection:

As companies look to provide competitive benefits while maintaining budgetary constraints, MBI acts on your behalf to ensure the very best rate for your needs. That includes health, dental, life, disability, vision, and all other lines of coverage. Our process progresses to providing the carriers with a bid request generated by our discussions and needs assessment with you. Upon receiving the responses, your MBI team analyzes and compares them to make a presentation for your company’s management team. Our mission is to educate you on the plans and companies being offered with an unbiased approach to each. We want your choices to be made based on which carriers best meet the criteria that is important to you and our recommendations are based on that as well. If needed, we will request finalist presentations for you to review for each carrier so you can ask the questions that will help with your final decision.

Communication:

Education is the key to your employees’ satisfaction with their benefit package. According to a Watson Wyatt press release, Communication Plays Critical Role in Improving Retention Power of Health Benefits, "how well a company communicates the value of it's health benefits can do more to retain top-performing employees than the actual richness of the benefits themselves." MBI pledges to develop an education process that meets the needs of your employee base. All companies are unique and that is why you will have an MBI team member to lead every one of your enrollment meetings. In these trying economic times, we’re there to ensure your meetings educate your employees to get the “biggest bang” out of their insurance dollars while impressing upon them the value of your company’s employee benefit package. Education up front helps eliminate further confusion in the future.

Service:

Having a staff with an average of over 15 years of experience each, MBI doesn’t just say we’ll service you, we base our reputation on the “serious service” our clients have grown to expect. We will be there to support your needs throughout the year.

Higher cost sharing to the employee is a short term fix and does not address the primary driver of soaring health care costs, which include inadequate investment in health promotion strategies. The indirect costs of poor health can be 2-3 times the direct medical costs (including absenteeism, presenteeism and short-term disability)
